Jonathan Evans was born in Perquimans Precinct, North Carolina sometime prior to 1689. Evans' home was centrally located within the precinct and the local court was occasionally held at his home. In 1720 Evans observed an enslaved man named Sambo, who was living and working at Paul Palmer's home. Evans died in Perquimans sometime prior to 1743.
