Biographical Description

George Lumley was a resident of Perquimans County, North Carolina. The clerk of the Perquimans County Court from 1707 to 1709 and again in 1711, he burned records in support of Thomas Cary during the rebellion. Lumley was then captured alongside Cary and sent to England for trial. In 1720 Lumley saw an enslaved man named Sambo working at Paul Palmer's plantation. Lumley died sometime after 1721.
