George McCulloch was a resident of New Hanover County, North Carolina. An owner of enslaved people, Hanson served on the local freeholders court which heard cases involving enslaved individuals. He also served as a captain in the New Hanover Regiment of the North Carolina Militia from 1780 to 1781. He died sometime after the war.
