At a Justices & Freeholders Court held at Wilmington on Saturday the 19th. July 1777 on the Tryal of Jim, a Noegroe Slave the Property of Benjamin Clark of Bladen County Charged with Stealing &ca.

Evidences Sworn

Rose, a Negroe Wench, belonging to Geo McCulloch, Examined

After the Examination of the above Evidences said Negroe Fellow Jim, was found Guilty of having Stealg. Killing Cattle, & Hoggs & threatning the Lives of several persons & breakg. Open houses.

Following sentence was f ^pass'd^ upon said Jim, by said Court; that he be kept in safe Custody untill Monday the 21st. Inst. & then Conveyed to the place of Execution at 11 oClk & there to be hanged by the neck untill he be dead—

The said negroe Jim was vallued by the above Justices & Jurors, at the sum of Eighty pounds Currenty Money of the State of North Carolina
