Biographical Description

Benjamin Clark was a resident of Bladen County. In 1777 one of Clark's enslaved people, an African American man named Jim, was found guilty of stealing and sentenced to death. Clark represented Bladen in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1778 and 1782. He died in Bladen in about 1783.
