Biographical Description

Walter Sharp was a resident of Rowan County, North Carolina. Sharp was an owner of enslaved people and in 1777 when Toney, one of the enslaved people that Sharp owned, was executed, Sharp received compensation. Sharp also served as a major in the Rowan County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia. He died in Rowan in about 1779.
