John Tillery Gregory was born on February 11, 1832. Gregory was a Confederate veteran, an enslaver, and an attorney who served as a clerk of the Superior Court and a probate judge in Halifax County, North Carolina. He died in Halifax, North Carolina, on December 14, 1905.
