Biographical Description

Herbert Clark Hoover was born on August 10, 1874, in West Branch, Iowa. During World War I, Hoover was appointed by President Woodrow Wilson to serve as head of the United States Food Administration. He was later the 31st President of the United States, holding the office from 1929 to 1933. Hoover died in New York, New York, on October 20, 1964.
