Mills Riddick was born in New Kent, Virginia in about 1730. In 1770 Caesar, an African American man that Riddick owned, was charged with murder in Chowan County, North Carolina. When the court sentenced Caesar to death, the court compensated Riddick for the loss of Caesar's labor. Riddick died in Perquimans County, North Carolina in 1777.
