Biographical Description

John Barrow was born in Bath County, North Carolina in about 1701. A planter, Barrow represented Bath in the North Carolina Colonial Assembly in 1744 and served as a local justice of the peace. In 1748 he presided over a case involving Stephen, an enslaved man charged with theft. Barrow died in Beaufort County, North Carolina in about 1781.
