Biographical Description

Richard Barrow was born in Hyde County in about 1705. A resident of Beaufort County, North Carolina, he owned enslaved people. In 1748 he served on a local freeholders court when it heard the case of Stephen, an enslaved man charged with theft. Barrow later became a resident of Pitt County, North Carolina, where he died sometime after 1764.
