I write this in behalf of my friend Mr Roger P Atkinson who desires a position under the appointment of your Board.

I have been acquainted with Mr Atkinson for a good many years and have always regarded him as a high toned honorable gentleman, and have understood that he was a competent engineer and dilligent and faithful in the discharge of his duties. I commend him to your favourable consideration.
