I this morning Received the two Inclosed Packets from Mr Fauquier Lieut Governr. of verginia by Express with directions to forward them to you by Express; which be pleased to pay the usual Price I believe is nine Pistoles as I pay him through this Province.—

I wrote to you lately by a private Hand going to Georges Town about what I had done in taking off the Embargo as I then had no orders from Genl. Abercrombie, and found it was taken off to the northward a day or two after I Had a Letter from the Genl. by Post to take it off which was 10 weeks and 5 days in coming here, and as if I did not See any packet for you I Sent my Letter to you from him by a private Hand which I Hope you have got the Embargo having been taken off the 22d of May—

By vessels arrived in this Province and verginia, we Landed our Troops at Lewisburgh the 8th of June and took all their Batteries raised to prevent our landing with the loss only of 70 men and have taken all their Cannon and 2 mortars and the Light House Battery they have 5 Regiments in Garison and only 3 ships of the Line and some frigats in the Harbour our Troops are in great Spirits upon it and the French desperated we have only the Journal of the operations to the 10th of June and one letter of the 15th—

We hear also by a Letter from Rhode Island that Lord How with 7000 men has passed the Lake and the Train of artillery So we may quickly hear of the Surrender of Ticarondega and attack of Crown Point—Brigadr. Genl. Forbes was at Carlisle the 11th marching his Troops westward, So that I Expect they are Every where in action at this Time and our forces in possession of Lewisburg, and may be in time to Sail to Quebec—no late news from Europe—please to forward the Inclosed to Governr. Ellis.
