Isaac the Negroes Name.
Minits of a Ceartain Tryal of a Ceartain Negro Slave the properity of Josiah Holt. Commited by Archd. Gillispiee Esqr. for Stealing a muskett belonging to the Publick.
The Sheriff Returns that he duelly Summonsed the following Justices and Freeholders to Sit on Said Tryal (Viz)

Negro Dick the properity of Mr. Holt [sone] the Eavence Says that the Said Isaac did take oute of a Waggon an Iron mounted Muskett with a Bayonett then belonging to the Publick and hid the said Gunn in the bushes against the Race Paths.
Negro Dinah says that she saw Negro Dick Take ^Isaac told Her that Dick tooke^ oute of a Waggon a Muskett a Long the race paths and afterwars came Dick to hur House and Called out Dick Isaac and asked him if he had taken a way that thing & says no more
Negro Jim says that ^he^ was a Long the roade and saw Dick with [a] Gunn about one over & half by Sunn. The same day that the gun was Stolen.
Jack says that Dick told him that he & Isaac took a gun
Isaac hath taken said Gun.
