At a Magistrates & Freeholders Court held at the Court house in Wilmington on Monday February 8 1768. On the Tryal of a Negro Man named Johnny the property of James Hasell Junr. Esqr. Charg'd with Robbing Sundry persons—

John Walker Anthony Ward John Campbell & William Wilkison} Freeholders and Owners of Slaves

The Court upon Examination of the Evidences relating to several Robberies committed by Johnny hath found him Guilty of the felonies charg'd against him, and sentenced him to be hang'd by the Neck untill he is dead—to Morrow Morning between the hours of ten & twelve oClock, and his head to be affixed up upon the New road opposite Wilmington—

The Court Valued the said Negro Johnny at Eighty pounds proclamation Money, proof having been made that he had his full allowance of Corn &c Agreeable to Act of Assembly. Sign'd Corns. Harnett, John Lyon, Frederick Gregg, Wm. Campbell, John Burgwin, William Wilkinson, Anthy. Ward John Walker, John Campbell

I hereby Certify that the Aforegoing is a true Copy of the proceedings on the Tryal of the said Negro Johnny, taken from the Record Lodg'd in the Clerks Office of New Hanover County—
