Biographical Description

Jehu Tyson was born in Pitt County, North Carolina in about 1750. An owner of enslaved people, in 1778 he was charged with murdering Jim Bowser, an enslaved African American boy. Tyson later moved to Anson County, North Carolina, where he died on March 4, 1800.
