Inquistion Indented taken at the House of Jehu Tisons in the County aforesaid on the thirteenth day of January in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight being the Second year of our independance before me James Lanier one of the Justices of the peace of the County aforesaid Upon the View of the Body of Jim Bowser a negro Boy the Property of Joel Tison then and there Lying Dead and upon the Oath of Henry Ellis Timothy Harris Portlock Hodges Henry Harris Thomas Wallice Jnr George Bland George Sugg George Wolfenden Samuel Stafford Paul Allen Nathaniel Lanier Demsy wright Allen Arthur Forbes John Wolfenden & Roderick Williams who being Charged and Sworn to inquire how and in what manner the Said Jim Bowser by his death Came Upon thir Oath do Say that they are of Opinion that the Said Negro Boy Jim Bowser Died of the wounds that Appeared upon him Supposed to be Commited by the aforesaid Jehu Tison in Testemony whereof I the Said Justice of the peace as the Juriors aforesaid to this inquis^i^tion have Severaly put our Seals the day year first above Mentioned—
