To the Sheriff of Perquimans County Greetings

Whereas Julius Caser Parke hath Exhibited & filed his Petition and Complaint in our General Court against Anthony Hatch of Perquimans County aforesaid for harbouring and Entertaining a Certain runaway Negro Slave Called Phillis belonging to and in the Service of the said Julius Casar Parke contrary to the act of assembly in that case Made & Provided, therein hath also Prayed a Remedy & the Penalties accrued according to the Purport & form of the said act of assembly

We therefore Command you to summons or cause to be summonsed the said Anthony Hatch (if to be found in your bailiwick) Personally to be and appear before our Chief Justice and his assistants at our Next General Court to be held for our Said Province at the Court house in Edenton on the last Tuesday in October next then and there to answer the above Complaint of the said Julius Casar Parke and such Matters and things as by the said Petition shall be Objected against him farther to receive and abide such Order therein as to our Chief Justice and his assistants according to law Shall seem Meet & this you are in no wise to Omit & have you then & there this writt
