That John Fenix being Examined Saith that about Eight weeks agoue confederating with John Tate & Jane Anderson and Moses & young Tony Slaves of Mr. James Tooke they went away with from Mr. Tookes plantation in Pasquotank precinct. cam That abt. 9 ocl Clock in the night of their Departure comeing by Mr. Tooks store house, & seeing the Door Open & Moses & Tony therein he & Jno. Tate went in & lifting up the lid of a Chest he & the said John Tate carried away sundry goods now produced; That they put ashoare at Majr. John Hecklefields & took in Jane Anderson—That about a Week before their Departure the said Jane Anderson came over to Mr. Tookes plantation & there consulted about their flight & that she advised them to go away on a Saturday night—
