The Deposition of Priscilla Allen of Dobbs County Widow being of full Age & duely Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God.
This Deponent deposeth & sayeth, That her late husband Andrew Allen of Dobbs County departed this Life on Saturday the thirteenth Instant, after having made & executed his last Will & Testament in writing, & thereof made & appointed Jacob Vanpelt, & Gilbert Ker of the said County Executors & this Deponent Executrix; that in about an hour after the decease of the said Andrew, William McTyer & Colo. Abraham Shepard, came to the dwelling House of this Deponent, wherein the said Andrew then lay dead, and stayd & waited in and about the said house, until about ten of the Clock in the Night of the same day, on or about which time, the said William McTyer aided & assisted by divers Negroes some whereof belonging to the said Abraham Shepard, & others to one James Adair did enter the kitchen of the said Priscilla with force and Violence did Seize take & carry away eight Negroe Slaves, following, that is to say, Lucy Kellice Joseph Anthony, Frank, Phillis, Barbary & Candice belonging to the Estate of the said Andrew, & then & there being in the quiet & peaceable Possession of the sd Priscilla, the said Abraham Shepard at the same time Counseling advising & assisting the said William McTyer in Seizing taking & carrying off the said Negroes as aforesaid
