Elizabeth Champion was born in Virginia on October 2, 1711. In 1732 she married Thomas Jones in Chowan County, North Carolina. In 1782 Elizabeth and her son Thomas were found guilty of kidnapping an enslaved man named Sal from Elizabeth's son-in-law Josiah Small. Elizabeth Jones died in North Carolina on August 9, 1793.
