The Jurors for the State of North Carolina upon their Oath Present that Elizabeth Jones late of Chowan County Spinstress, and Thomas Jones late of Chowan County yeoman, on the Eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two, with Force and Arms at the County of Chowan, Unlawfully did enter the Close of a certain Josiah Small and one Negro Slave called Sal of the Value of two hundred Pounds Specie, the Property of the said Josiah Small, then and there being found did take and lead, drive and carry away to the great Damage of the said Josiah Small and against the Peace and Dignity of the State.
