Personally appeared before me the under signd a Justice of the Peace for said County Peter Lastley who being duly sworn depose and saith That by reason of Old age and The Consequint Loss of memory he cannot swear positive as to The Precise Length of his servace but according To The best of his Recollection he served not Less Than The Periods mentioned below and in The following Grades first I Served Three Monthes as a drafted millitia man from The month of march 1780 as a Private in Capt Bethels Company—and a second Tower from The 25 of august 1780 I ser[ved] Three monthes as a Private in Capt Forbas millitia Company and a Therd Touer I served as a vollenteer from January 178[illegible] Three monthes under Captain Forbas and Stuart as an order[ly] serjant and The same year I served Tenddays in Roan ^Randolph^ County after The Tories under the Command of Capt Gillaspee of a bout 75 men we whiped several Tories and Cut John Dickey very bad with a sword again I Served Ten Days in Roan ^Randolph^ County under the Command of Capt—Whitsell after the Tories about 75 of us Caught several Tories at a wedding as Per Declaration and Last of all I served Ten days thrashing The Quakers wheat as per Declaration in all I Think I served at Least Ten month seven of them as a Private soldier and three monthes as an ordily serjant—The above is offerd as a supplemen to my Declaration in which is not named The first Ten days I served in Roan ^Randolph^ County after Tories and for which I clame a Pension

I Henry Ewing clerk of the court of pleas and quarter Sessions for said county do hereby certify that the above amended Declaration of Peter Lesley an applicant for a pension was inhibited in open court during the October Term thereof 1833 and sworn to and by said Peter Lesley and that said court are of opinion from their knowledge of the character and standing of the applicant that his statements are entitled to full faith and credit
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of said court to be also affixed at office in Nashville on this twenty fourth day of October A.D 1833
