From: Dr. J. W. Long, Medical Aide to Governor, Greensboro.

To: Major John D. Langston, Special Aide to Governor, Raleigh, N.C.

Subject: Resignation as Medical Aide to Governor.

My dear Major Langston:

The enclosed letter to Governor Bickett with copy of letter from the Surgeon General explain themselves.

I can not refrain from expressing to you my deep sense of obligation for the many courtesies which you have shown me.

I do not know just when Col Hart will order me to join Base Hospital #65 but I think it will be several days or more. In the meantime I will finish the report of the Local Boards.

With personal regards, I beg to remain,

Sincerely yours,

J W Long
Major, M. R. C., U. S. A.
