Mr. Hunter G. Smith, Chairman,
Fayetteville, N.C.
My dear Mr. Smith:
Your letter just received, and I thank you for same. I am advising the Local Exemption Board to send Charles and Joe Elliott to camp at once. I would report the other men to Washington but I think they will soon be within the draft age, and it would be better to wait and handle them in this channel. I am writing each of these men a letter today that I think will have some effect on them.
Very truly yours,
