At a Coll Court Held For the Trial of A negro fellow Named Dick. The property of John Brevard Esqr Being A slave,

Being C[harge]d with the attempt of Murthering his said Master by the wounds he gave him and the attempt of killing sevarell negroes the property of said Brevard and also his Takeing up Arms against Divers Subjects who, did Attempt To Take him the sd. Negroe Dick—And after hearing the several Charges and Allegations Laid against him the said Dick and after hereing the Proofs from Sufficent Evidence We the sd. Justices and free holders Do Order that the Sheriff of this County do Take the said Negroe Dick and him safely keep untill Wednesday the 30th of This inst. at which day you shall Cause the sd Slave to be Hung by the Neck untill he be Dead, and That you Cause his head to be Choped off and put up at the forks of the Road that Leads to George Davisons as an Example &c—

This Slave so Condemed and ia allowed by [illegible] and free holder to be & Allowed or worth the Sum of Thirty five Pounds proc money
